2011
The last post of mine was in 2010, and now, it's already midway through January 2011! Time is indeed flying by.
Before the year ended, I was torned between wanting to study/play at the same time. This was because my exam was fast approaching. The "need" to study and the "want" to play was very hard to shake off and the only way to please that "want" and "need" was to compromise. Nevertheless, in between the studying and playing, I ended my year on a high note. I had fun celebrating and ushering in the new year with both my family and friends. It was also the very first time I ushered in the new year with friends. =) May there be many more times in the future! =)
2011 begin with intense preparation for my exams. I literally had exams back to back and it took a real toll on all of us. With the amount of cramming we had to do, it's a surprise we managed to get through it with our hairs still on our head!! The only good thing about having exams so close to one another was that our holidays would be longer.
Since November last year, I've also been looking for internship placement and my luck at getting a place was really low. I was getting really worried as almost all of my friends had secured places and when January came, with just less than a month away from when my internship was going to begin, the stress to find a place was beginning to get to me. But thankfully, I finally got a call from Inter-Excel Advisory last week and secured myself a place. It's one of the leading companies specialising in aviation. They are involved with career counselling, training, and many more things. It sounds like a good company and their credentials sounds good, so I can only hope I learn a lot from this place.
Anyway, since I started my holiday last Friday, I've been helping my mom at the shop as we do not have enough staff at the moment. The plus side of helping my mum is that I'm getting paid! =) It's not much but I'm still happy with it. It's not really necessary but she insists on paying me, so i'm not complaining! haha... =)
With the year going by smoothly so far, I never expected to receive the news I got today. Just a few hours ago, my dad got a call that one of his closest and oldest friend, collapsed and passed away. It was a real shock to all of us as he was doing fine and looking healthy. So, to get the news of his death today was a real shock. Well, all I can say now is that May His Soul Rest In Peace.
