A surprisingly enjoyable Saturday class!

Its already week 7 of our first semester in Advanced Diploma and so far, its been OK but as expected, the work pile is much more compared to diploma. And the assignments are tougher and the need to be more detailed and careful in whatever you do is very much needed.

Anyway, as usual, we had our Saturday class from 9am to 1pm today but something exciting happened as well! On Friday, when I arrived at college, I was kinda surprised to see so many High School Musical - My School Rocks posters around the college. I just assumed that they were promoting it or maybe the auditions were going to be held at our college.

Today, I finally found out the real reason behind all the posters. Disney Channel and ASTRO was actually having the HSM My School Rocks competition at our college! And it was being filmed live! There were so many high school and primary school students as well as parents hanging around at our school auditiorium. So, being the curious people that we are, as soon as our class stop for our half hour break, we headed straight to the hall.

We were surprised to see our auditorium completely transformed into a HSM extravaganza filled with life size posters of the casts and everything. We were even given whistles to show our support to the groups. It was really nice seeing all the students dressed up in their best costumes complete with coloured pom poms and everything! The primary students taking part were the most dressed up in terms of their costumes. But they were also really talented! There were little kids break dancing and shaking their hips as though they've been doing it for years!! hahaha... Simply adorable! We couldn't help but cheer for all the teams we saw! Unfortunately, we didn't get to see all the teams and we didn't get to see who won.

Nevertheless, the best part about this was the fact that I experienced my first live recording session! It was so cool seeing all the big cameras filming and the lights shining. haha! And two of the judges were famous local artistes! One of them was Linda Jasmine, a famous choreographer (you would probably recognise her from Akademi Fantasia) and the other was Sazzy Falak, an actress famous for her role in Gol and Gincu!! Oh yes, I forgot to mention that Linda Jasmine is really pretty!! And so is Sazzy! =) Serene and I were so excited that we approached them as soon as they left the judging table to ask for a photograph and that was enough to make us happy for the rest of the day! After that, we kinda felt more energised for class!! haha...
