1 Love 1 Revolution - Be The Green Generation

From the 20th to the 23rd of July was Tunku Abdul Rahman College's first ever go green campaign entitled 1 Love 1 Revolution - Be The Green Generation! This campaign was a collaborative effort between the students of Advanced Diploma in PR (APR) and Diploma in PR (DPR).

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but for this semester, I have a paper called events management and so, this campaign was my assignment. The APR students were in charged of the pre- event and the launching of the campaign and the DPR students were responsible for the rest of the days. I was lucky enough to be chosen to be the Chairperson of my event and so, my responsibility was to ensure everyone did their job well and that the campaign would be a success!

However, throughout the whole planning and execution of this campaign, my friends and I faced a LOT of bumps along the way. There were some parties who did not want to give their full cooperation and because of their lack of experience and common sense, there were a few glitches during the course of the campaign. Nevertheless, the APR students did their best and at the end of the day, our hard work paid off as we got praises from people for the success of our launching.
Here are some pictures during our pre event and launching ceremony:

The "Green Hunt" had four tasks which all the teams had to complete in order to collect stamps. This picture was taken during one of the task whereby the participants were required to build a miniature using recycle items such as plastic bottles, bottle caps, etc.

LAUNCHING:

Ribbon cutting ceremony. On stage is Mr. Amos, Mr. Sham from Celebrity Fitness, Mr.Geh from MPPP and Miss Lim.

Giving my speech during the launching ceremony. =)

Tree Planting was one of the activities during the launching ceremony. The trees were given to us for free by Jabatan Perhutanan.

Overall, I think we did a good job. Yes, there were a few mistakes and the launching started 10 minutes late due to the late arrivals of the VIPs but everyone put in a lot of effort towards making this campaign a success. The best thing that happened as a result of this event is that it brought all the APR students closer and we got to know each other better. We started off as strangers and ended this campaign as friends.

Getting to know my classmates during the planning and execution of this campaign has been memorable. At least, throughout the difficulties and challenges we were forced to face throughout this event, something good happened in the end. =) And so, I would like to thank all my friends from APR who gave their all in making this event a success because without all of you, our event would not have achieved its purpose. =) Thank you!!! =)
