Fire??
There we were sitting quietly in the lecture hall when we realised that the air-conditioning was no longer working...it didn't really bother us as it wasn't that hot.....when SUDDENLY.....the lights in the lecture hall went off, leaving us in darkness! The only light we had was from the two windows at both side of the hall.
We asked permission to leave the class early as we could hardly see what we were doing but our lecturer refused to let us go. Then, she left the hall to get some work done and not even a few seconds later, she came back telling us that there may be a fire in our block! She told us not to worry and that she will investigate to let us know what happened. As she left, we could hear students from other classes leaving their classrooms. A few friends went to the door to see what was happening, and when they opened the door, THE WHOLE FLOOR WAS FILLED WITH SMOKE!! And it was supposedly coming from the girls toilet.
Because of that, everyone begun to come up with their own conclusions as to what will happen to us. Some even went over the top by predicting the newspaper headlines "PR students die in fire rage after lecturer refused to let them out"! hahaha...
Obviously, it wasn't that bad. It was probably just a short circuit of wires that caused the blackout and smoke but knowing us, we can come up with the weirdest ideas possible. In the end, our lecturer came back and told us that we couldn't continue with our class and that we were free to go home.
As I was walking away from the building, I realised that no other parts of the college were affected and many didn't even know what had happened! I was suppose to have another lecture in the same class today, but lucky me, electricity was still not restored so, I'm free for the whole day! =)
