Drama Class

So, I'm back after a short absence from writing...Mostly due to the fact that I've been busy with college and trying to get better....I am finally cured from my flu and cough though there is still a slight cough...hahaha....

The week hasn't really been an interesting one except maybe yesterday and today's drama class. So, yesterday during drama class, we finished doing our first play - "Emily of Emerald Hill" by a famous Singaporean author Stella Kon. It's actually a one woman play about Emily's life and the Peranakan culture. It's a short play with only two acts. Anyway, the interesting factor wasn't about the play the activities we did in class. Yesterday, we played two games called "Wink Murder" or more popularly known as police and thief and the other game was "Look Up, Look Down". Kinda interesting and funny....hahahah...

Today's game was better....It's called "Toxic Emotions"!! So, all of us had to write down a famous line from a movie or any commonly said line on a piece of paper and hand it to the teacher. After that, we had to stand in a circle and each person will be called to the middle in turns. The teacher will hand you one of the pieces of paper and before you read it, she will give you an emotion such as "angrily" or "sarcasticly" and you have to read the line with whatever emotions she asks you to act out. It was really histerical watching everyone act out the different emotions with weird lines that just doesn't match!!! Mine was super funny because can you imagine saying "Go to hell!! Shit!!" INNOCENTLY??? hahahaha.....Ya, I was suppose to act out that emotion using that line! hahahah.....So, it was really funny....These are just activities for us to practice for our group acting presentation but it does help make the class fun and interesting!!

So far, today's drama class has been the highlight of my week. Besides that, tomorrow i'll be continuing my Deepavali shopping. This time is not to look for new clothes but to look for food!! Cookies and all the other traditional food to give out to the neighbours. Yes, we still practice the giving of delicacies to neighbours and receiving from others. It's a "to do" thing every year and even our neighbours look forward to receiving all the delicacies!! This is what you call the spirit of Muhibbah!! hahahaha...

Alrite then, till the next post!! Pa-Alam!!
