I recently watched this movie on Astro Kirana. I watched this movie about 3 to 4 times and I never got to see the ending until last thursday. This movie depicts the life of the widows in India where they all have to live in sort of like a convent after their husbands die. The sad thing about this movie is the little girl around the age of 8 or 9 that gets married to an old man because of her poor parents and after the man dies , she has to leave her family to live in the convent.

It really gives you an insight as to how the widows in India are treated just because they are widows. The looks and the way people talk to them is as though they are criminals. And to think that only the women have to live like this after their spouses die and as for the men, why don't they go through the same thing if their wives die first? This proves that equality still does not exist. To think that this practice/tradition still do exist is crazy! What they made the little girl do towards the end of the movie is one of the most heart-wrenching scene in the movie.

Watching this movie really makes you think about your life if ever this happens to you and it is a good movie to watch! So, if you have some free time, check out this movie.
